A little about me
Behind all these blog posts, I’m your average Joe. As much as I wish to be one, I’m not one of those travel nomads who can travel for months and years or forever.
I’m your blue collar 9am to 6pm (more like 9am to 12pm) worker living in the city and stuck in a job I won’t be able to escape just so I can pay off my mortgage. Like you, I have limited annual leave and budget and way too many obligations for an extended holiday. And like you, I question why I repeat this wake up, go to work, work, work more, work even more, sleep, cycle everyday.
I’ve tried to see more of the world and to do different things in search for answers. And, surprise surprise, I still don’t have one. But maybe, just maybe, sometimes living is not all about work and obligations. Maybe it’s to explore something new, live out of your comfort zone or take on a new challenge. Maybe it’s to create your own story, which you’ll remember years down the line.
A little about the blog
Let’s face it, most of us have limited time (including youth) and money. I admit that I probably won’t be able to travel to every country in this world or do everything I want to do in my lifetime.
I used to go on those hectic group tours that visit ten countries in ten days. I would be in France taking a picture of Eiffel tower one day and then in London taking a picture of Big Ben the next day, thinking that I’ve accomplished a shitload. But all this seemed a bit hollow – all I had at the end of the trip was a couple of photographs.
I started this blog with the aim of inspiring you on different adventures there are in this world through things I’ve seen/done. As most people have limited resources, I’ve tried to share with you the experiences I thought were worthwhile and those that weren’t. I’ve also tried to address some of the usual concerns such as costs, difficulty and safety. Hopefully, this information will inspire or help you create your own adventure.
Just to avoid doubt, this blog isn’t to brag about things I’ve done. There are way too many things I haven’t done (i.e. should have partied way more after college). And there have been too many things I’ve done wrong (i.e. consistently overpaying for flights). If you’re looking for perfection, there are plenty of other travel bloggers who travel way better than me.
I look forward to hearing about your adventures. If you’ve one-upped me with an adventure that is even more epic, please write to me, as I’d love to listen to your adventure!
